Cassie and David’s winter wedding at The Peaks Resort & Spa in Telluride's Mountain Village embraced everything that makes getting married during the snowy season so special. Set high in the mountains, surrounded by the snow-covered San Juan Mountains, the celebration paired a light, winter-inspired design with the warmth, texture and energy of a true mountain wedding.

The outdoor ceremony was kept intentionally bright and understated, allowing the surrounding Telluride landscape to take center stage. White and soft blush florals, flowering branches and natural textures complemented the snow-covered mountains, while fur throws added warmth for guests. Inside, the winter wedding design continued with layers of candlelight, greenery and delicate white florals. Floor-to-ceiling windows kept the mountains present throughout the celebration, creating a beautiful contrast between the snowy landscape outside and the warmth of the reception within.

While the design took its inspiration from the landscape, Cassie and David’s guests brought an entirely different layer to the celebration. Velvet, fur and rich jewel tones filled the room, giving the wedding the feeling of an elegant winter gathering without becoming overly formal. Their friends came ready to celebrate, and the relaxed energy carried from cocktails around the fire into a packed dance floor later that evening.

And no celebration for Cassie and David would have been complete without their dog, who was very much a member of the wedding party. Serving as ring bearer and joining the couple and their guests throughout much of the day, their devoted fur baby added another personal, and particularly memorable, element to a wedding already filled with personality.

​

The result was a Telluride winter wedding that felt sophisticated without taking itself too seriously. Snowy mountain views, thoughtful winter details, incredible fashion and a room full of friends who were there to celebrate well into the night. What more could one ask for in a winter mountain wedding.
