Karen & Eddie
Misty Mountain Micro Wedding
This micro wedding at Purgatory Resort just outside Durango, Colorado was the kind of destination mountain wedding that reminds you why couples choose remote mountains in the first place.
A steady rain drizzled throughout the day, creating misty, airy clouds that wrapped the surrounding 12,000–13,000-foot peaks as Karen and Eddie exchanged vows atop the 10,800-foot summit. The unforgettable moment was rooted in simplicity and uninterrupted presence.
As soon as the couple were married, the clouds parted ever so slightly and painted a light rainbow that seemed to arch over the couple perfectly—A reward for embracing the weather rather than fighting it.
Inside, the reception felt warm and intimate, with clean lines, classic black-and-white details, a timeless cake and tablescape, and hundreds of candles glowing softly into the evening. The celebration unfolded as a true multi-day wedding, beginning the night before with drinks, cornhole, and live music at a local saloon which welcomed guests into the rhythm of the mountains and setting the tone for a weekend that was intentional, elevated, and deeply personal.
